Kimberly is a mother of two. She decided later in life to change careers. She is a hard worker and is very persistent to get the job done. She enjoys all art. She wants everyone to enjoy it and to always look beyond what you see. Her parents taught her to always live your life to the fullest and never give up. She is always dreaming and chasing that dream.

I grew up in a small town in the mountains of North Carolina. Where there was nothing to do but some form of creativity. We had to create our own games and our own gifts. I love to sing and wanted to go to Nashville to become a singer. However, as I got older my dreams changed. I had my children at a young age and became a housewife and mother to two children. I have since been a single mom of those two and had to go back to work.

I worked for 12 years as a teaching assistant and bus driver. I started back to school when my youngest one started school. It took me almost 7 years to complete my associate degree in Fine Arts.  After a sickness, and the death of my parents I decided I wanted a career change. So, I went back to school to get my BFA in Graphic Design at Liberty University.

I have always enjoyed arts of all kinds. My love for art was inspired by both of my parents. They both had a creative side to them. My mama could make anything under the sun and my dad could figure any problem out known to man. I am very persistent, and I don’t give up too easily. If something is hard, I keep pushing through. That is one thing both my parents taught me, which is to never give up and I have taught that to my kids. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on this degree. I want to show my kids and myself that even when life is hard there is always a brighter side to it. I have been asked several times what my favorite bible verse is, and I have finally narrowed it down to Proverbs 3:5 (ESV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

My work reflects several projects that I did over the course of my schooling. Several of these are what I am most proud of. The second to last photo in the portfolio is of my picture that I won 1^st place in at a local art show. It is an abstract piece using different objects and scanning the objects on top of each other.

Kimberly Pope Designs are very creative and personable. You can really tell that a lot of passion was put into the artwork.
